Crime stopper tip leads to arrest of man on EPPD “wanted” list

The EL Paso County sheriff’s Office have arrested a “wanted” criminal following a Crime Stoppers tip.

On Wednesday, August 15th, Miguel Tapia-Aguirre was arrested at a construction site located on the 11400 block of Gateway West Boulevard.

Sheriff’s deputies and Crime Stoppers of El Paso conducted an investigation as to Aguirre’s location based on information provided from the tip.

Aguirre was previously featured as “wanted” by the El Paso Police Department for charges of Assault on a family/house member by impeding breath/circulation, as well as a criminal mischief charge over $100 but less than $750.

Following his arrest, Aguirre was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility.
