A job fair geared toward veterans takes place Thursday
Do you have your resume ready?
The 8th annual Hiring Red, White and You job fair is happening Thursday morning.
The job fair is a statewide event geared toward veterans and their spouses.
It’s hosted by Workforce Solutions Borderplex, Texas Workforce Solutions and the governor’s office, among other entities.
The goal is to encourage Texas employers to capitalize on the skills and experience of service men and women, and help veterans and their spouses in Texas transition into the civilian workforce.
The fair is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Marriott at 1600 Airway Blvd., and is free and is open to all job seekers.
Workforce Solutions said 102 employers confirmed attendance at this event, making this the biggest hiring event of the year. Job seekers are advised to come dressed to impress and with plenty of copies of their resume for employers to review.
