Report highlights best places for veterans to live

This Veterans Day, a new report is highlighting the best cities for former service men and women to live.

According to personal-finance website WalletHub.com, Austin, Texas comes in at number one. That’s followed by Scottsdale, AZ, Colorado Springs, CO, Raleigh, NC and Gilbert, AZ.

The report compares the 100 largest U.S. cities across 18 key metrics, ranging from share of military skill-related jobs to housing affordability to availability of VA health facilities.

The bottom five on the list goes from Baltimore, MD, Fresno, CA, Memphis, TN, Newark, NJ and Detroit, MI coming in last place.

El Paso made 38 on the list and Las Cruces wasn’t listed.

Some other statistics show that Virginia Beach, VA has the highest veteran population.
