UPDATE: Pedestrian killed in crash that shut down I-10 westbound near Geronimo identified

Police have identified the man who was struck and killed while crossing I-10 last weekend.

Police say 40-year-old Latorey Jamelle Blizzard was struck as he were walking on I-10 west near Geronimo just after 1 a.m. on Nov. 10.

Blizzard was from Richmond, Virginia.

Police say Blizzard was hit by a Nissan Altima and then was struck a second time by a car believed to be a 1998 to 2002 silver-colored Honda Accord.

Blizzard died from his injuries.

Police say the first driver stopped to render aid – but the second fled the scene.

Police shut down the interstate that morning to investigate the crash.

Anyone with information on the second car is asked to call police.
