City issues demolition notices regarding City-owned properties in arena footprint
The City of El Paso announced Monday it has issued notices to property owners and tenants who live within 300 feet of the downtown arena footprint, notifying them of the City’s plans to demolish city-owned properties.
The City did not set an official date for the demolitions. City officials said it has agreed not to demolish any of the city-owned properties prior to November 19, 2018.
It is currently in the second phase of the archeological study, which involves ground penetrating radar and mechanical excavation within the properties. Last week, the City secured the site with fencing/
City officials said The Texas Historical Commission (THC) has granted the City a permit to carry out the archeological and historical study.
