Police identify motorcyclist killed on Loop 375 Interchange
El Paso Police identified the motorcyclist killed early Friday morning at 23-year-old Marco Da Silveira.
Investigator say speeding on the part of Da Silveira contributed to the wreck.
Special Traffic Investigators unit was called to Bob Hope and Joe Battle on the far east side around 2 a.m. Friday.
The ABC-7 crew that responded to the scene, closer to Gateway Boulevard West under the I-10/Loop 375 interchange, saw what appeared to be a body covered in a sheet on the ground, as well as police officers stationed on one of the flyover ramps and on Joe Battle and Bob Hope.
“The investigation revealed that 23-year-old Marco Da Silveira was operating a motorcycle when he drove onto the exit ramp 42 overpass and struck the concrete barrier causing him to plummet off the overpass. Mr. Da Silveira died at the scene. Speed is believed to have been a factor,” police said in a news release.
