UTEP falls on the road at Marquette, 76-69
UTEP freshman Jordan Lathon scored 26 points and added six assists, but the Miners fell on the road Tuesday at Marquette by a final of 76-69.
The Golden Eagles jumped out to a quick 13-2 lead early in the first half, but Lathon helped the Miners stay in game scoring 15 of his 26 before the half.
The Miners found themselves down just seven at the break before Marquette guard Markus Howard took over.
Howard, who scored 45 in a win over Kansas State this past weekend, would tally 21 points and five assists in the win over UTEP.
Marquette improved to 7-2 overall and 6-0 at home while UTEP is now 3-5 on the season and 0-4 on the road.
UTEP freshman forward Efe Odigie turned in another solid performance with a 17-point, 10-rebound double-double in the loss.
Evan Gilyard scored 10 points but was just 1-8 from beyond the arc and 4-15 from the field overall.
The Miners are now off until Dec. 16 when they return home to face UC Riverside at 1 p.m.
