UTEP Miner wins C-USA cross country athlete of the year

Miner runner Linda Cheruiyot was named C-USA Cross Country Athlete of the year.

Cheruiyot helped the ladies to their first conference title in school history. She finished in the top three in five meets and came in first at the Joe Piane invitational.

Cheruiyot earned All-Region honors at the NCAA Mountain Regionals, finishing 10th overall in the 6k.

The women claimed the team title in four meets during the 2018 season.

UTEP Track and Field will be back January 12th at the Texas Tech Corky Classic.
