Socorro Police identify pedestrian struck and killed by train

The Socorro Police Department Thursday identified the pedestrian who died after being struck by a train as 52-year-old Israel Ornelas Garcia.

The death remains under investigation by Socorro Police and Union Pacific Police.

The train accident happened on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at approximately 2:46 p.m.

Socorro Police said Garcia was pronounced dead at the scene.
