New Volvo dealership breaks ground in Northwest El Paso

Local Volvo owners will soon have a service dealership close by. Thursday morning a groundbreaking was held for what will be Giles Volvo, which will be located on South Desert Boulevard in Northwest El Paso. With the closest dealerships in Albuquerque and Tucson, Volvo needed to fill this void.

“So I contacted Volvo and said, hey I would love to have another Volvo dealership somewhere. And they pointed me in this direction and said well we need a dealer like you in El Paso,” says Bob Giles, owner of Giles Volvo.

Giles Volvo will be located in close proximity to many other Northwest El Paso dealerships. That’s not only good for customers, it’s also good for the dealerships.

” Anytime you have competition, it’s always healthy. It’s healthy for the dealership, it’s healthy for the customer,” says Art Arias, a sales manager at nearby Rudolph Chevrolet.

Giles Volvo will not only help business in the area, they’re looking forward to rewarding those who do great things for the Borderland through a program called El Paso Heroes. Every month anyone can nominate someone who is making a difference and a winner is selected from the nominees.

“So we can recognize them publicly and bring attention to what’s good in the community and we support the winners with a cash donation every month,” says Giles.

Giles Volvo is projected to open on September 1st.
