EPPD: Man arrested after confrontation outside Trump rally

Authorities have made an arrest in connection to an incident that happened the night of President Trump’s Make America Great Again Rally on Monday.

Sebastian Gonzalez, 25, was charged with Evading Arrest and Resisting Arrest. Police said Gonzalez also had five outstanding traffic warrants.

Officers securing the perimeter of the El Paso County Coliseum and nearby Chalio Acosta Park, where former El Paso Congressman Beto O’Rourke addressed supporters at an anti-Trump rally, were confronted by a group of “belligerent protesters,” according to law enforcement.

Authorities said a person broke through the perimeter and ran from the officers but was caught after a brief foot chase.

Gonzalez was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility with a bond of more than $4,500.
