O’Rourke Campaign sets sight on two locations for March 30th El Paso rally
ABC-7 is getting a better idea of where Democratic Presidential Hopeful Beto O’Rourke will likely hold his March 30th campaign rally in El Paso.
When O’Rourke announced he was running for president during a visit to Iowa, he promised a rally in Downtown El Paso.
ABC-7 has been in contact with the City’s “One Stop Shop,” the office where anyone holding an event has to go to for a city permit.
According to city staff there, O’Rourke’s camp submitted two proposed sites: The Plaza Theater, where the downtown farmer’s market is held, and an open area off El Paso street.
Normally, a group applying for a permit has 30 days before the event to submit the paper work.
However, that city staff member says groups can apply a week before the event, but will have to pay a penalty fee of $64 as well as an administration fee.
In essence, the O’Rourke camp still has time to get a permit for a March 30th rally.
