El Paso Locomotive FC take on top ranked opponent

The El Paso Locomotive FC were sitting in last place within their conference. Up next for the squad was the western conferences fourth ranked team, Reno 1868 FC.

Both teams had opportunities to get on the board early in the game.

Sixth minute, Reno ripped a shot from just out side the goal area. Goal keeperLogan Ketterer extended to the far post and got a glove on the rocket heading for the net.

In the 14th minute El Paso’s own Omar Salgado streaked down the right sideline passing the ball around the defender to execute a perfect cross but no other Locomotive was in the area to cap the goal.

It wasnt until the 74th minute when Jerome Kiesewetter was dragged down by a defender in the goal box that El Paso was awarded a PK.

Sabastion Contreras masterfully out thought the Reno keeper for the goal!

Time would expire giving the El Paso Locomotive FC the 1 to nil victory.

“We felt like we played really well. It doesnt matter where the goal came from just that we scored.” Said striker Omar Salgado.
