Diocese of El Paso calls St. Jude church fire an ‘act of vandalism’

A spokesman with the Diocese of El Paso said that an incendiary device caused a small fire at the Saint Jude Catholic Church early Saturday morning.

“We can confirm (it is) an act of vandalism,” the spokesman said in a press release.

That fire took place around 4 a.m. on 4006 Hidden Way.

According to fire dispatchers, firefighters were able to extinguish the flames quickly upon their arrival.
