1 of 2 Friday shooting victims in Las Cruces dies

One of two men injured in Friday’s shooting on Lester Avenue in Las Cruces has now died, according to the police department.

The shooting resulted in the death of 29-year-old Johnny Burnside, which police announced on Sunday. Another man shot survived, his identity has not been released.

Those shootings happened inside a home on Lester Avenue off of Walnut Street in east central Las Cruces.

Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of $2,000 for information leading to the arrest of the person or people responsible.
