NMSU gets 12th straight win after thrashing Chicago State, 71-49
CHICAGO, Illinois — Once again the New Mexico State Aggies made it look easy getting their 12th straight victory of the season.
Thursday night in Chicago, the Aggies had no problem taking care of business against Chicago State.
The Aggies came out on the winning end against the Cougars by a final score of 71-49.
Playing in his home town for the first time in his collegiate career, Evan Gilyard II sparked a 20-4 New Mexico State run over that last 7:24 of the opening half by scoring seven-straight points and the Aggies rode that surge to a victory.
A fifth-straight road victory helped the Aggies maintain a two-game lead for the top spot in the WAC standings.
NMSU improves their overall record to 18-6 on the season, 9-0 in WAC play.
