Horizon man accused of having hundreds of child porn images

EL PASO, Texas -- A 45-year-old Horizon man has been arrested after El Paso police allegedly caught him with several hundred child porn images, authorities said Wednesday.

Rene Barriguete Chaparro was taken into custody on Tuesday at his home in Horizon City and charged with possession of child pornography.

Police said they were tipped by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that Chaparro had reportedly uploaded hundreds of obscene images of young children to an online account.

Chaparro was being held Wednesday in the El Paso County Detention Facility under a $50,000 bond.
