El Paso County Commissioners Court meets to discuss the coronavirus.

EL PASO, Texas -- The El Paso County Commissioners Court met Monday to discuss the county's coronavirus testing capacity.

Chief Jorge Rodriguez of the Office of Emergency Management answered commissioners questions and concerns.

Commissioner Vincent Perez questioned him about whether the county is currently over-reliant on testing done by the private sector, and whether the county's own testing is robust enough to meet the community's need.

Also, the court was told that the El Paso Processing Center will soon get an Abbott testing machine, which should enhance testing of migrant detainees.
