South Las Cruces neighborhood upset over proposed development that could bring more traffic

Residents of an older neighborhood in south Las Cruces are worried about a proposed development right in their back yard.

The neighborhood is along Broadmoor Drive, and the planned development would require Broadmoor to extend past Karen Drive.

Roads are narrow in this neighborhood and the streets also lack sidewalks.

Residents are worried that increased traffic from the new development would hurt their neighborhood and make it less safe.

The Las Cruces City Council is scheduled to discuss the proposed development at its meeting on Monday.
