Roswell murder suspect captured in Las Cruces after brief foot chase

A Roswell man wanted in the murder of his girlfriend was arrested Wednesday by police in Las Cruces after a brief foot chase, authorities said.

Jesus Alberto Robles, 34, is charged with first-degree murder and being a felon in possession of a firearm. He’s accused of shooting 33-year-old Griselda Rascon in the head in her Roswell home last week.

Las Cruces police said they pulled over Robles pickup truck after spotting it about 10 a.m. in the 1100 block of Monte Vista, but Robels and a passenger jumped out of the pickup and ran.

Officers caught up with the pair a short time later and arrested them; police did not release the identity of the man captured along with Robles.
