One person seriously injured after…

UPDATE: The grandchild of the woman who owns the home reached out to ABC-7, saying there is now a GoFundMe account set up for the woman to help make repairs on her house.

“My grandmother’s home insurance is being as generous as they can be regarding repair costs,” said Thomas Krapin. “It won’t be enough for building the home from the bottom up, since the foundation of the home is ruined and will eventually collapse.

“Any amount of money would help our family right now,” Krapin added.

No one inside the home was injured, according to authorities.

One person was taken to the hospital after a car crashed into a home in East El Paso.

It happened on Wedgewood Drive near Chinaberry Drive on Monday just after 11 p.m.

Police told ABC-7 the incident was originally reported as a hit-and-run crash, but an officer later confirmed the driver was taken to the hospital.

The brother of the driver told ABC-7 the driver was drunk during the crash. Witnesses of the crash say they believed street racing was also involved during the incident.

Authorities said the driver suffered non-life threatening injuries.
