Derek Plucienski no longer coach of UTEP men’s golf

EL PASO, Texas - UTEP is once again in search for a men's golf coach.

Sources confirmed to ABC-7, Derek Plucienski has left the program after only one season at UTEP.

Details on why Plucienski is leaving are not known at this time.

 Plucienski was an All-Conference USA player at Southern Miss before rising through the coaching ranks.

Before being hired at UTEP in November of 2020,  Plucienski was the head coach at McNeese State University.

In his one and only season at UTEP, Plucienski led the Miners to the Conference USA Men's Golf Championship.

The Miners finished tied for 10th place.

The search will now begin for Plucienski's replacement.
