OMAHA, Nebraska - Will Licon's journey toward redemption continues.

Wednesday, at the Olympic Swimming Trials in Omaha, Nebraska, the El Paso native qualified for the final race in the 200 meter breaststroke.

It was five years ago when Licon barely missed qualifying for the Olympics in the 200 meter breaststroke.

He placed third in the final with only the top two finishers going to the Olympics.

Licon is once again back in the final, and is looking to punch his ticket to Tokyo this time around.

Licon had no problem qualifying for the semi-finals in the 200 meter breaststroke after finishing in first place in his heat with a time of 2:10.58.

It was the 5th fastest time in the preliminary races.

Licon's semi-final race later in the evening was a bit more challenging.

He needed to finish in the top three of the semi-final race in order to qualify for the final.

Licon just made the cut finishing third in the second semi-final race with a time of 2:09.39.

He finished with the 4th fastest time in the semi-finals, and will now look ahead to the final of the 200 meter breaststroke on Thursday.

Licon's Olympic journey continues, five years in the making.

A chance for Licon to redeem himself and finally become an Olympian.
