Community Champions: Hanks wrestlers sign to wrestle at next level

EL PASO, Texas - Hanks High School has produced some of the best wrestlers in the state of Texas.

The Knights have won several state titles in wrestling, and it's no surprise that many of them would continue their wrestling careers in college.

Monday, four wrestlers from Hanks signed to wrestle at the next level.

Kylie Robledo is a state champion and signed her letter of intent to wrestle at Baker University.

Aalyah Villarreal is also a state wrestling champion who will be headed to Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth.

On the boys side, two Hanks wrestlers also signed their letters to continue their wrestling journeys.

Daniel McGurk is a state runner-up who signed with Hastings College in Nebraska.

He'll be joined by fellow teammate, Corbin Phelps who also signed with Hastings College.

Phelps placed twice at the state tournament and won numerous district titles throughout his high school career.

For their accomplishments, the Hanks wrestling team has been named this week's Community Champions.
