Otero County Commissioner Couy Griffin sentenced; avoids more jail time, gets fines, supervised release

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Otero County Commissioner Couy Griffin was sentenced to 14 days in prison but is receiving credit for time served.

According to a senior legal affairs reporter for Politico, a federal judge also sentenced Griffin to a $3,000 fine, $500 restitution, and one year of supervised release.

A federal judge convicted Griffin on a misdemeanor charge of trespassing earlier this month in connection to Jan. 6.
