First image from inside Robb Elementary sheds new light about law enforcement response
UVALDE, Texas -- A new photo from inside Robb Elementary shows multiple officers inside Robb Elementary with rifles and at least one ballistic shield nine minutes after the gunman arrived. The video footage was obtained by KVUE and its news partners at the Austin American-Statesman.
The 18-year-old gunman killed 19 students and two teachers with an AR-15 on May 24.
According to KVUE, investigators believe the footage indicates law enforcement had more than enough firepower and protection to enter the classroom before they actually did.
According to KVUE, body cam footage shows officers growing impatient. In one section, an officer is heard saying, "If there's kids in there, we need to go in there."
