District Attorney announces target date for Crusius state trial for Walmart shooting
EL PASO, Texas -- District Attorney Yvonne Rosales has announced a target date for the state trial against Patrick Crusius, the accused August 3rd Walmart shooter: Summer of 2023.
"We are aware that this time-frame may seem long for many, however, keep in mind that trials were delayed due to the pandemic and have only resumed as early as January 2022," said Rosales.
Last week U.S. District Judge David Guaderrama announced jury selection in the federal trial would begin in January of 2024.
DA Rosales said her office would continue to seek the death penalty.
