EL PASO, Texas -- Over four days in 1995, people stumbled upon a woman’s spray-painted body parts -- including her decapitated head.

Police investigators in El Paso had no idea who she was.

As they worked to identify her, they made an unusual and unprecedented request of local newsrooms in the hopes of identifying her -- and ultimately, finding who killed and dismembered her.
