1 new virus death, 33 added cases in El Paso

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- The El Paso Department of Public Health announced one new coronavirus-related death and 33 new cases Friday.

El Paso County's pandemic death toll increased to 2,630 with the latest death of a woman in her 70s.

There are also 16 additional suspected Covid-19 deaths currently being investigated by the health department.

El Paso health department data shows that 60.9% of El Pasoans 12 and older are now fully vaccinated, with 73.5% having received at least one dose.

The number of known active virus cases now stands at 301.

There are 40 Covid-19 patients in El Paso hospitals, with 18 of those patients in intensive care units.
