Broadway’s longest running show getting set to close

NEW YORK, New York - "Phantom of the Opera" has announced it will close on Broadway after running for 35 years.

Andrew Lloyd Webber's legendary production won multiple Tony Awards in 1988, including Best Musical.

Producers on the show claim that they can't keep up with production costs since returning from the pandemic.

The show's final performance is set for February 18th, 2023.

"Phantom of the Opera" will continue production in London, and most recently Australia.

A Mandarin version of the show is also set to open in China next year.
