Hit Broadway musical ‘The Prom’ the latest production for UTEP Dinner Theatre
EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) - Nominated for six Tony awards, the hit musical 'The Prom' is part of the UTEP Dinner Theatre's 40th anniversary season. The show premieres this Friday night. The UTEP Dinner Theatre is on the second floor of the Student Union West on the UTEP campus.
'The Prom' is the hit Broadway musical about four fading Broadway stars who are in desperate need of a new stage. When they hear that trouble is brewing around a small-town Indiana prom it’s time to kick-ball-change the world! The town’s parents want to keep the dance on the straight and narrow. But when one student just wants to bring her girlfriend to prom, the entire town has a date with destiny. 'The Prom' is the hilarious musical that won the 2019 Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Musical! You don’t want to miss this happy, funny, peppy, funny, bursting with love musical. The show does contain some adult language.
'The Prom' is being presented at the following times and dates: Dinner shows at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, February 3, 10 and 17; Saturday February 4, 11 and 18 at 6:30 p.m.; and a Sunday matinee dinner show on Sunday February 5 at 1:00 pm. There are also two Thursday dinner shows at 6:30 p.m. on February 9 and 16, and two no-dinner matinees at 2 p.m. on Sunday February 12 and 19. Tickets for all performances are available at the UTEP Ticket Center and for an additional fee through Ticketmaster.
