ABC-7 Xtra: El Paso County Attorney cracking down on massage parlors

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- El Paso County Attorney, Jo Ann Bernal's efforts to shut down allegedly illegal massage parlors is ongoing with the closure of yet another spa.

The latest spa forced to temporarily close it's doors was the Asian Spa Massage on the eastside on Yarbrough, where a woman who only spoke Mandarin was allegedly illegally living inside the spa.

This Sunday on ABC-7 Xtra, representatives from the County Attorney's offices tell host Saul Saenz they are hearing of migrants crossing the border forced to work in parlors.

"We know for example, there have been reports in other parts of the state where that is happening, and we would expect an increase [in El Paso]," said Christina Sanchez with the County Attorney's office.

Saul asks his guests if the County Attorney's office expects to close more allegedly illegal massage parlors.

Hear their answer, this Sunday at 10:35 after ABC-7 at 10 Weekend edition.
