WATCH: Ketanji Brown Jackson sworn in as Associate Justice of the Supreme Court

UPDATE: Ketanji Brown Jackson has been sworn in as the 104th Associate Justice of the Supreme Court.

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The Honorable Ketanji Brown Jackson will be the first African-American female justice sworn into the U.S. Supreme Court Thursday at noon eastern time. Jackson will be sworn in as the 104th Associate Justice of the Supreme Court.

This comes as the court is in turmoil, especially since the decision to overturn Roe v. Wade last week, ending nearly half a century of a federal constitutional right to an abortion.

Chief Justice John G. Roberts, Jr. is expected to administer the Constitutional Oath.

Associate Justice Stephen G. Breyer will administer the Judicial Oath immediately after his retirement. Jackson will be taking Breyer's place on the Supreme Court.

The ceremony will be held in the West Conference Room before a small gathering of Jackson's family.

A special sitting of the Supreme Court featuring a formal investiture ceremony will take place at a later date.

Stay tuned to ABC-7 for a livestream of the ceremony Thursday.
