Teen Suspect Arrested For Assault In Las Cruces

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – Las Cruces Police arrested16-year-old Edward De La Cruzin connection with a September 2006 clubbing assault on a woman that took placeat theRainboBakery.

Investigators say 57-year-old Maria Rivera was working at the bakery on Dona Ana Road, whenDe La Cruzallegedly came in and attacked her before stealing her Chevy S-10 pickup on the evening of September 6, 2006.Rivera hasbeen in need of constant medicalattention since the attack.DeLa Cruzis charged with aggravated battery and unauthorized taking of a motor vehicle.
