Police-ICE Agents Raid Fast-Food Franchise Locations

RENO, NV – Thursday federalagents crowded the office of the owner of 11 McDonald’s restaurants looking through files and removing hard drives from computers.

Employees at the 11 restaurants were detained and questioned by additionalICE officers. Any employees who could not prove they were elligible to work in theU.S. were arrested and taken away for further processing.

AnICE official said they were executing a warrant based on specific information garnered over a five month investigation. If the franchise owner is convicted of knowingly hiring illegal immigrants, he could face criminal felony charges as well as fines ranging from$250 to $10,000 dollars for each unauthorized individual hired.
