Inclement Weather Disrupts Football Games

EL PASO, TX — The wind and the rains that swept through the area on Friday wreaked havoc at several high school stadiums, forcing many fans of out of the stands, and cancelling at least a half-dozen games.

At first, strong breezes developed into sandstorms, and that prompted many spectators, players and cheerleaders to cover their faces. Visibility was reduced to just a few feet in some places.

When the rains came, the stands, fields and roads became hazardous. The Eastwood High School stadium, among others,emptied within minutes.

No major injuries were reported as a result of the storms.

School officials have rescheduled the games that were called off to due to weather to be resume on Saturday.
