Storms Turn Roads, Highways Into Hazards

EL PASO, TX — Law enforcement and medical crews are blaming bad weather forseveral car crashes in El Paso and the vicinity on Friday night.

One collision occurred around 10 p.m. near the Anthony exit from I-10, El Paso County Sheriff’s investigators said. The driver of one vehicle lost control and it skidded off the pavement, rolling over at least once and coming to rest on its roof, authorities said.

The people inside, a man and a woman, sustained various cuts and bruises totheir faces, arms and hands. Medical crews took the couple to a local hospital to receive treatment. The injuries are not considered life threatening, sheriff’s deputies said.

Sheriff’s authorities rerouted traffic from around the site until the wreckage was cleared.

Emergency crews responded to numerous traffic calls in about a four-hour period.
