Terry McDonald Found Guilty Of Murder

EL PASO — An El Paso jury has found Terry McDonald guilty of the murder of Felipe Andrade.
McDonald, 27,was accused of killing his 62-year-old roommate and then burying his body in the front yard of his own Central El Paso home in June, 2005.
McDonald’s defense attorney argued that his client was the victim of repeated sexual harassment incidents and was attacked by Andrade when he refused to perform certain sexual acts.
The jury returned with the guilty verdict just before 4 p.m. McDonald faces five years to life in prison.
Testimony in the sentencing phase began immediately after the verdict was announced. A detective with the El Paso Police Department testified while jurors were shown McDonald’s written confession about burying Mary Mount,a former girlfriend’s body in Hudspeth County.
McDonald has been charged with Mount’s death, but has not yet been tried in that case.
The judge adjourned court for the day and testimony for the sentencing phase in the Andrade murder caseis scheduled to continue Friday.
