Anti-Graffiti Efforts Result In Over 40 Arrests, Detentions

EL PASO — Police arrested more than 40 people in the first month of an operation targeting graffiti vandals.

In late January, Interim Police Chief Greg Allen announced an increase in the department’s gang unit to help combat the vandalism.

From various investigations, 47 people were arrested or detained over the course of the first month, including juveniles from as young as 11-years of age.

El Paso police investigators are asking for the community’s help in the continued efforts to fight graffiti. Any vandalism observed or those involved in graffiti should be reported to Crime Stoppers of El Paso at 566-8477 (TIPS).
