‘Welcome Home Heroes’ Parade Sweeps Through Downtown

EL PASO — El Pasoans paid tribute on Thursday to the men and women of the 4-1 Cav and the 3-43 ADA who have returned from service to their country in Iraq.

The ‘Welcome Home Heroes’ parade, sponsored by the City of El Paso and USAA began atnoon Wednesday and featured over 4,000 troops returned from tours of duty in the Middle East.

In addition, riderless horses were marched in the procession in honor of those soldiers who gave their lives in service to their country.

Mayor John Cook and many other El Paso dignitaries were on hand to pay tribute to the brave men and women who have served.
