Eastside Power Outage

EL PASO, Texas – Far east El Pasoans were feeling the heat Monday night after a power outage left residents scrambling for flashlights, candles and cool air. 5,000 to 7,000 thousand El Paso Electric customers were affected according to a company spokeswoman. The lights went out just as the sun set, forcing residents on Jon Evans Drive near Pebble Hills to move outdoors to escape muggy homes without air conditioning. “I’m worried for my little brother,” one young girl told ABC-7. “He’s only four months and it’s way too hot out here for him.” Another woman expressed concern for groceries in her refrigerator. ABC-7 was there when the lights came back on around 10:15 p.m. Monday..
