9-Story Building Evacuated; Possible Gas Leak
Emergency Dispatchers have confirmed a building in Central El Paso has been evacuated because of a possible gas leak.
The Surety tower, a nine-story building, which houses offices, is near Gateway East and Bassett Place.
The call came in as a condition two fire, which is considered a serious situation. Emergency Responders tell ABC-7 there are seven fire units on scene.
The entire building was evacuated a little after 11 this morning.
Our newsroom has confirmed with emergency dispatchers that the Fire Department has requested a Sun Metro Bus to remove all of the evacuees from the property.
Building management has also sent all personnel to lunch.
