Sun Metro To Let LIFT Passengers Ride For Free

EL PASO — Sun Metro and the Mass Transit Department Board will provide free rides to LIFT certified passengers, Sun Metro officials said Tuesday.

The resolution will take effect immediately. The free rides are intended to help disabled people “achieve the transportation autonomy they desire, while encouraging their increased usage of the fixed route bus system,” officials said in a news release.

LIFT passengers must show their Sun Metro LIFT picture ID to operator to ride. Personal care attendants are required to pay normal required fares for service.
