Over 76,000 Vote Straight Ticket Democrat In EP County
EL PASO COUNTY, Texas — A total of 76,425 people voted a straight Democratic ticket in El Paso County, Pat Helen of the El Paso County Elections Department said, nearly 16,700 more than in 2004.
The total voter turnout in the county, including early voting, was 188,517.
On the Republican side, 23,512 people voted a straight Republican ticket. The number was down from 29,043 who voted a straight Republican ticket in 2004.
Helen said thenumbers are not completely accurate because you can go back and change specific races to a different party, which she said many voters did do.
