Council Discusses Possibility Of Taking Over Ascarate Park

EL PASO, Texas — City Council discussed Tuesday the possibility of taking over Ascarate Park from the county, with the recommendation of some commissioners.

The mayor and council discussed possibilities for the park if they take it over. Representative Emma Acosta pointed out that the park needs a lot of improvements.

Council decided 7-1 to postpone any action until after the new Commissioners Court is elected in January. Eddie Holguin voted against the measure.
