3 Accused Of Kidnappings In Juarez Also Face Auto Theft Charges

JUAREZ, Mexico — Three people accused of kidnapping in Juarez now face charges of vehicle theft, according to Chihuahua state police. Jessica Alvarez Alvarez, Cesar Melendez Torres and Fortin Alderete Heredia were allegedly found with five vehicles used in illicit activities.

Three of the vehicles found in their possessionhad beenreported stolen. One of them, a white truck, seen below, was reported stolen in El Paso on Feb. 23. It is a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado.

Alvarez Alvarez, Melendez Torres and Alderete Heredia were arrested last Thursday in connection with six kidnappings. An investigation revealed they may also have killed 49-year-old Enrique Castañeda Pacheco. A judge has charged them with homicide.
