PSB Cuts Stormwater Fees For School Districts, Non-Profits

EL PASO, Texas — The Public Service Board has once again slashed stormwater fee rates for school districts, social service agencies and non-profits, PSB officials said.

They will now pay 10 percent of non-residential fees, down from the previous 25 percent rate.

“In light of today’s stressed economy, the stormwater fee for non-profits and social services has been reduced to help them control costs and continue their services,” said Ed Archuleta, president and CEO of the PSB, in a news release.

The cuts will take effect this month.

One of the major points of contention against the PSB is its setting of stormwater fees. On May 9, voters will decide whether the PSB will continue to set the rates or whether that authority will go to elected city officials.
