NM Authorities Launch Anti-DWI Campaign

Authorities in New Mexico are launching what they call the “Spring Super Blitz” – a campaign to crack down on drunk driving.

The “Spring Super Blitz” begins Friday, March 12, continuing daily through Sunday, March 28.

The New Mexico Department of Transportation andlaw enforcement agencies throughout are making this campaign known through increased DWI checkpoints and mobile electronic signs along roadways.

One of the messages on these signs: “Super Blitz March 12-28: Cops Are Everywhere.”

“As the weather starts to warm up, we tend to see more people drinking and driving,” said State DWI Czar Rachel O’Connor, adding, “We hope the citizens of New Mexico will make the right public safety decision and decide not to drink and drive.”
