Local Law Enforcement Veteran Gets Presidential Nomination

EL PASO, Tx – A local law enforcement veteran is getting a big nomination from President Obama.

Robert Almonte received Obama’s nod for U.S. Marshal in the West Texas region. If his nomination is confirmed, Almonte will be responsible for tracking down fugitives, as well as protecting our federal courthouse as well as all federal judges and witnesses.

Almonte worked for the El Paso Police Department for 25 years, and hopes he gets the job. Recently, he served as the executive director of the Texas Narcotic Officers’ Association.
