Las Cruces Man Charged With Sexual Contact, Enticement Of Young Girls

Las Cruces Police arrested a man for allegedly groping a young girl and offering her and another girl cash to keep quite about his sexual lewdness.

Fernando Ibarra, 53, of the 1100 block of east Newberry Lane, has been charged with two counts of criminal sexual contact of a minor and three counts of enticement of a child. Ibarra, who is related to both girls, was arrested by Las Cruces Police officers Thursday afternoon.

On April 12, the 13-year-old girl’s parents contacted police and told officers that Ibarra made sexual advances toward their daughter sometime over the weekend, according to police officials.

Detectives said that on at least two occasions dating back to November 2009, Ibarra had sexual contact with a 12-year-old girl and offered both girls money if they exposed themselves and kept quite about it. Both girls ultimately refused to honor Ibarra’s requests.

Ibarra was transported to the Dona Ana County Detention Center with a cash-only bond set at $50,000.
